As part of the implementation of the enhancement process of decentralization, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization (MINATD) is organizing a capacity-building seminar for journalists of the national media on this process at the Hotel Framotel in Kribi, from 5 to 7 May 2010.

 

In attendance will be journalists of the print and audiovisual media from public and private sector, representatives of MINATD, the Ministry of Communication,  FEICOM, the Permanent Secretariat of the National Decentralization Council and resource persons from the National Committee on local taxation.

During the seminar that will hold in a single group, the over forty invited journalists will be treated to presentations reviewing the entire issue of decentralization in Cameroon as at date. These presentations will be interspersed with debates to enable participants, at the end of the proceedings, to master the history, present problems, financial stakes and the control of the decentralization process in our country.

The Kribi seminar will be chaired by the Secretary-General of MINATD, representing the Minister of State, Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, who is unavoidably absent.
