As part of the enhancement of cooperation in the fight against transboundary insecurity between the two countries, the Cameroon/CAR Permanent Joint Security Commission shall be holding its first ordinary session in Bertoua on 6 and 7 February 2010. The Cameroonian delegation to this important meeting is led by the Minister of State, Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, MARAFA HAMIDOU YAYA.
PRESS RELEASE No.007/CP/MINATD/SG/CC The Minister of State, Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization wishes to inform the national and international community that on the very high joint instructions of the Presidents of the Republic of Cameroon and the Central African Republic, the Cameroon-CAR Permanent Joint Security Commission shall hold its first ordinary session in Bertoua on Saturday 6 February 2010 to Sunday 7 February 2010. On this occasion, both parties shall mainly examine ways and means of intensifying cooperation in the area of security, notably in the fight against transboundary insecurity. The holding of this meeting is in line with the signing in Bangui on 24 August 2006, of the Agreement to set up the Permanent Joint Security Commission between the Governments of the Republic of Cameroon and the Central African Republic. Besides the Minister of State, Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization as Head of Delegation, the Cameroonian delegation to the Bertoua meeting shall comprise the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of the Islamic World, the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of Justice, the Secretary of State to the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of the Gendarmerie and the Delegate General for National Security and experts from various public administrations.
